Mr. Abyi Ahmed ever since becoming The Ethiopian Prime Ministerhe has initiated secession of hostility toward Eriteria and if we go back to historical facts as we are allwell aware of, the independent struggle Eriteria went through to gain it independent from Ethiopia was achieved after bitter and long warfare with Ethiopiawhich resultedEriterianssuccessfully liberating their country from Ethiopia , but in the ensuing years the war between the Newly independent country of Eriteria and Ethiopia continued, however after the suddendeath of the Ethiopian prime minister Mr.MelseZenawi the ruling coalition of Ethiopia people RevolutionaryDemocratic Front collapsed and shortly afterwards Mr. Abyi Ahmed was appointed as prime ministry by all stake holders within the former of Ethiopia people Revolutionary Democratic Front and shortly after the Ethiopian Prime Mr.Abyi Ahmed went toEriteriaand declared an end to hostility between the two neighbouring countries and as result Mr.Abyi Ahmed was awarded with noble peace prize award.
Recently there are indication that the Ethiopian prime Minister has been in touchand contact with Mr.MuseBihi the president of Republic of Somaliland about the regional security cooperation as well as strengthening bilateral economicties between the two countries , however there are speculation that The Ethiopian prime Mr.Abyi Ahmed may indeed embarkedon new peace initiatives for Republic of Somaliland and Republic of Somalia let us assume that maybe the intention of Mr.Abyi Ahmed and since this is just speculation, however TheEthiopian Prime minister of have not given any indications or announcement regarding the so called talks, However before Mr. Abyi start this new venture he has to resolve his own back yard with tremendous internal political difficulties that may lie ahead within Ethiopia and challenges to The Ethiopian Prime Minister within Ethiopia as well as current political instabilities that requires the current Ethiopian government full attention, such as Ethnic and enter regional unrest and conflict within Oromo region as well as neighbouring regions which has resulted in mass exodus that has created millions of Internally displaced refugees within Ethiopia and lost of thousands life as well as challenges to his leadership mainly from other Oromo leaders who view Mr. Abyi Ahmed lack of cohesive political planes to expedite reforms which requires to bring about an end to enter regional ethnic conflict within Ethiopia and to prepare Ethiopia for multi parties electoral process, on the other hand the Ethiopia economy has become stagnant due to declining productivity compounded by global economic downturn due to covid-19, therefor my personal opinion is that the Ethiopian prime minister will not undertake the task of hosting the talks between Somaliland and Somalia.
On the other hand the current occupant of villa SomaliaMohamed AbdullahiFarmajo has imparked on illusionary reunion and hostility towards Republic of Somaliland in order to divert international communities attention to his failure to build consensus and bring an end to the suffering of the people within Somalia ,however most horn of Africa political observers see this as diversionary tactical move by Farmajo as last gasped measure to cover up his failed policy within Somalia and may have persuaded the Ethiopian prime minister to intervene on behalf of Farmajopipe dream ,which is fanciful scheme, deceitful and pretentious to renew hostility and not to bring about peaceful coexistence within the horn of Africa.
However Somaliais still beleaguered by civil conflict and ravaged by corrupt leadership and the current Somalia head of state who was selected by so called parliament was given a mandate by international community to bring about reconcillation between warring factions and not mention the go ahead by international community for military intervention by neighbouring countries to trying and establish peace among war lords who terrorised their own people for the past thirty yearswhich have not improved since Farmajo came to power and without any fruitful result to show for,ThereforeFarmajos days in Mogadhisomaybe coming to an end due to donors fatigue by the international community as well as economic crisis brought about by covid-19 .
The people of Somaliland maybe wondering and questioning the motive behind the anticipated peace initiatives by The Ethiopian prime minister , but people of Somaliland will not be deceived once again to join Somalia and as we are all well aware of The historical facts that The Republic of Somaliland again it’s independent from Britain onJune 26, 1960 and immediately joined Somalia, which resulted and become disastrous union , butonce again the people of Somaliland took up arms to gain their independent and retook their country back from Somalia
The people of Somaliland joined hands to rebuild their country from scratch after Somali Armies killed hundreds of thousands of people from Somaliland as well as systematic of distraction of cities, towns and villages. As a result, the stoic people Somaliland rebuilt their country on theirown and without international community help or hand outs and reinstated rule of law,educational institutions,health and all the essential partof afunctional state based on Islamic values and democracy.
