Arabsiyonews-Somaliland ministers today have held discussions which was aimed at enhancing security, trade and movement of people from Somalia to Somaliland and vice versa.
Somaliland’s minister of foreign affairs, Sa’ad Ali Shire has chaired the meeting which took place at the office of the minister of civil aviation and air transport.
Ministers of interior, foreign, relocation and representatives from Airline companies were in attendance.
Ministers of finance and health were absent from the meeting although they were busy running the daily day affairs of their ministers.
The ministers that met this morning are part of a committee that the country’s president has appointed to held discussions on the trade and security with Somalia.
The ministers are expected to see ways to put in place tough measures aimed at beefing up security in airports, border crossing points with Somalia, Ethiopia and Djibouti.
Mr. Adani has thanked the FM who has chaired the session and told that Somaliland is committed to have friendly relations with Somalia where people who come to Somaliland can safely arrive in the country without posing threat to the national security. The minister hopes that the two states can have strong ties based on mutual interest between the two nations. Mr. Adani went on to say that the two brotherly nations will enjoy peace and stability and should live side by side in peace and tranquility.
