Arabsiyonews:-Somaliland president Ahmed Mohammed Mohamoud (Silanyo) will return the country on Sunday 16 May 2016, after his ministerial delegation signed a historic agreement with DP World in UAE last Monday.
The head of state and his delegation has signed agreement toward expansion and modernizing of Berbera port with DP world, UAE public owned company in Dubai ruler palace. This agreement is largest foreign investment which Somaliland achieved with international community since it broke away from rest Somalia in 1991.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Somaliland president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo and the UAE prime minister and ruler of Dubai Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Makhtoum.
Dubai World is charged with the Berbera port management, structural development as well as renovation of the Berbera corridor that joins Somaliland to Ethiopia.
Similarly the UAE government is also obligated to finance a five star hotel in Berbera in additional to developing agriculture, energy and tourism sectors nationwide.
Somaliland citizens are enjoyed this agreement and noted that this agreement would be the gateway of Somaliland and cooperation of Arab tycoons.
president Ahmed Silanyo and his delegation will return the country on Sunday and self preparatory operation in community is conducted the Somaliland capital Hargeisa. Somalilanders has overwhelmingly supported the results of the president tour to UAE.
“We are keen to welcome our president for the sake of his biggest achievement towards upgrading Berbera port. This investment will create job opportunities to the our youth,” Ahmed Nour said and confirmed that he will attend to welcome of president Silanyo on sunday . He added “I will go the main street of the city and participating huge number of civilians warmly welcome to the president.”
